  The land for this cemetery was donated to Morgan City by a member of the Young family. Local stories detail train loads of yellow fever victims dumped there during the height of the plague in the 1870's. It is rather well maintained but for travellers with a historical bent it is a treasure trove. Just down the street is Fort Star where 30,000 union troops were stationed during the Civil War.
